After an undetermined number of years in secret development and prototyping phases, the Apache project brings to light a complete revolution for K2 Skis in 2004. The name chosen to represent this flagship project was derived from K2's proud American heritage and the cutting-edge technological construction of the Apache ski design. Reconnaissance reveals evidence of radical innovations in tip geometry and a new 3-D top shape, referred to as MOD TechnologyTM. Combining these elements with advanced sidecuts and new binding integration concepts (IBX), the Apache series awards aggressive, all-mountain warriors with an arsenal of five new ski constructions.

Three years ago, K2 took the male-dominated ski industry by storm with the release of the T:Nine series of women's skis. K2 authorized the Alliance Team, a representative group of women developers, to research, test, shape and develop a line of women-specific skis. The 2004 T:Nine series includes six skis with revolutionary tip shapes, dampening systems, graphics, and the BioFlex core. Women skiers everywhere will be able to take advantage of the extraordinary benefits provided by these ski products specifically designed for women. On location at the secret testing grounds of Cascade Range and Palmer snowfields of Mount Hood, the Alliance Team has worked around the clock and even through the Pacific Northwest summers to create the finest, most physically appropriate line of women's skis on the market.
